| Jesus' desire is
to demonstrate
His King-Priest
Ministry through His
church. The priest prays & repents for nations, cities, governments, & people. The priest approaches the Father by means of the Blood of Jesus for the needs of sinful nations & individuals. The king on the other hand uses his Christ given authority. The church has a responsibility to destroy evil and to establish the kingdom of God in the earth. The church has the responsibity to turn the political system and schools back to God. This book does not deal with end time theory. King-priest deals with Jesus' reign on earth as a king and a priest through the believers. Jesus can only reign as His children yield their spirits and minds to Him. 1 Corinthians 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. It seems that the body of Christ is birthing the millennium which will be fully manifest with His return. Dramatic changes will be made in government and business by your prayers. The body of Christ will begin to turn society to the Lord. In the midst of this there probably will be great conflict and great battle. Satan does not want to turn loose, but he will. Responsibilities of the Ambassador
Ambassadors have four primary responsibilities:
Training for the Ambassador
Promise Keepers is dedicated to serve men's ministries within the
local
church and to communicate with them through a structure built upon two
voluteer positions: the Key Men and
the
Ambassadors.
We have strategically positioned the Ambassadors between the Field
Ministry
Staff of Promise Keepers and the Key
Men:

An Ambassador Introduces the Ministry of Promise Keepers to
Churches
in His Community
We suggest that an Ambassador target 10-20 churches and initiate
contact
with a church through the church secretary, the head of the men's
ministry,
or a pastor. If a church is not familiar with Promise Keepers, an
Ambassador's
first visit to a church usually focuses on the history and purpose
statement of Promise Keepers. It is important for him to remember
that
Promise Keepers desires to serve the pastor, return men to their
church,
and challenge men to make promises that last a lifetime. He may utilize
the general information brochures as introductory material to leave
with
each church.
The Ambassador is on the cutting edge of reconciliation between brothers of different ethnic and denominational heritages for the purpose of rebuilding a foundation of mutual trust, love, and respect. Consequently, he may want to develop a cross-cultural or cross-denominational relationship with another Ambassador, establishing common ground in Christ and modeling your relationship to the churches in your community. In addition, we have learned from experience that Ambassadors are more effective when they work in teams of two, encouraging and supporting each other as they visit churches. Because Promise Keepers is committed to building relational bridges, Ambassadors must avoid negative political, doctrinal, and denominational remarks and discussions. In some cases, an Ambassador will encounter a church that is outside his personal comfort zone in terms of cultural or denominational emphases. If so, he should remember that he does not have to answer every question. It is also important to remember that the benefits of crossing these barriers far exceed the challenges of investing time and energy in a church. As one of the worship songs for Promise Keepers says, "By His love let the walls fall down."
Ambassadors who are asked to speak at a church on behalf of Promise
Keepers should limit their presentation to the use of Promise Keepers'
materials. Many Ambassadors feel more comfortable just showing a
Promise
Keepers' video and sharing their own testimony about how their life has
been changed because of vital, meaningful relationships with other men.
An Ambassador Recruits Key Men In
Each
of These Churches
As he discovers churches which are interested in Promise Keepers, he
asks for a recommendation of one man, a layman or a pastor, who has the
desire and ability to start a men's ministry in that church. He is the
potential Key Man of that church. After contacting this man, the
Ambassador
shares his personal testimony of Christ and how the decisions he made
at
Promise Keepers have impacted his day-to-day life (e.g., in marriage,
family,
church, and friendships). He explains the focus and purpose of Promise
Keepers and the position and responsibilities of the Key Man, utilizing
the Key Man booklet. Finally, he challenges him to become a Key Man and
to find a core group of men who have the same desire to minister to the
men in their church. Some churches may have a number of men who have
already
volunteered to be Key Men. The Ambassador selects one as a contact
person
by asking the pastor for his recommendation. We encourage multiple Key
Men in a church if they each focus on different responsibilities within
their men's ministry. (See the funnel
model in the book Focusing
Your Men's Ministry. This diagram distinguishes between special
events, training seminars, congregational gatherings, and small
groups).
The Ambassador Develops and Maintains Relationships With Each Key
Man
He continues to encourage each Key Man with periodic phone calls,
sharing
significant stories of how God is stirring the hearts of men in our
nation.
Often these stories become encouraging milestones for Key Men and their
men's ministries. Additionally, the Ambassador offers his Key Man new
ideas
for his men's ministry, utilizing resources such as the strategies in Focusing
Your Men's Ministry, by Pete Richardson; and in Brother!
Calling
Men into Vital Relationships, by Geoff Gorsuch and Dan Schaffer. He
prays with and for his Key Men, asking God to give wisdom and guidance
to each man, his church, and his men's ministry.
An Ambassador Attends and Works At a Regional Conference
and/or National Leadership Seminars .
Before a conference, all attending Ambassadors will be notified how
they can serve during and after the conference. Most conferences have
Promise
Keepers' ministry booths that are staffed with Ambassadors. These
booths
are responsible for introducing Promise Keepers' mission, core values,
resources, and opportunities for ministry. The Ambassador is encouraged
to attend a Men's Ministry Leadership Seminar if one is scheduled
within
close proximity to the Ambassador's community. We understand that most
seminars are scheduled in areas that are hosting a regional conference.
However, for your convenience, we anticipate that over the next two
years
a seminar will be scheduled in an area near our community.

Training for the Ambassador
We have designed an ongoing training program for the Ambassadors of
Promise Keepers. It is divided into three levels to accommodate
differing
degrees of interest, ability, and involvement. The training is intended
to educate Ambassadors with a practical knowledge on developing
effective
men's ministries, on the dynamics of men's small groups, on reconciliation,
and on building quality leadership in a church. Familiarity with the
materials
in the Ambassador Orientation Kit will provide enough resources to help
you begin your ministry as an Ambassador. However, Level One training
is
required for all Ambassadors as soon as possible. An Ambassador should
make plans to attend Level One training no later than six months after
confirmation.
Ambassador Orientation Kit
After Promise Keepers has approved an Ambassador, we will send him
an
orientation kit containing the necessary materials to effectively
communicate
the ministry of Promise Keepers and to understand the basics of men's
ministry
and men's small groups. We require that he read all booklets, books,
and
brochures.
Level One
Field Ministry Staff offers basic instruction on understanding the mission of Promise Keepers Field Ministry, and practical "how-to's" for contacting pastors and identifying and supporting Key Men. Training will be available in selective regions primarily centered around the conference sites. Training is also available through the National Office on the third Saturday of each month from August through May. To make a reservation for training at the National Office, interested Ambassadors must call the Ambassador Training Coordinator at (303)964-7590.
Level Two
Field Ministry Staff gives instruction to prepare Ambassadors for public speaking on behalf of Promise Keepers. Three progressive subjects are addressed, including the uniqueness of men, starting men's ministry, and developing small groups. You will learn to share these three subjects using your own personality, illustrations, and giftedness.
Level Three
This level involves preparation and certification to be a trainer of trainers. This instruction enables an Ambassador to participate in the ongoing equipping of new Ambassadors and Key Men, working alongside the Field Ministry Staff at various training meetings.
