ASSEMBLIES STEWARDSHIP
1. The Authority
of Believers: The Lord
ü The authority of the Assembly and all Christian believers
is none other than the name of Jesus Christ.
This authority was given to Him as both "Lord and Christ". He
gave it to His people for the sake of His Kingdom.
2. The Rule
of Believers: the Holy Bible
ü We try to
live in obedience to the Word of God as revealed in the Holy Bible and
spiritually discerned in a New Covenant context.
ü We believe
in a Holy Spirit led and Christ-centered interpretation of both Old and New
Testaments of the Bible.
ü The Holy
Spirit uses the written Word to give new life to the community of believers and
to help them grow in faith.
3. The Salvation
of Believers: Salvation in Jesus Christ
ü
All persons are in need of the gracious
salvation and redemption that God has provided in the blood of Jesus Christ His
Son.
ü
God sent Jesus Christ, His only Son,
to the world at a specific point in history, so that all who trust in Him may
be reconciled to God.
4. The Community
of Believers: The Assembly and its Ordinances
ü Taking part
in a regular worship meeting enables believers to respond to God communally
with grateful praise while affirming the unity of the community of faith.
ü Baptism is
practiced to symbolize the decision of a morally responsible person publicly
committing his/her life as a disciple of Jesus Christ living within His
Kingdom.
ü
The bread and wine of remembrance is
shared regularly as a reminder of the believer’s covenant relationship with God
and other believers.
5. The Mission
of Believers: Evangelism
ü God has
commissioned His people to reveal Jesus Christ to the world in the power of the
Holy Spirit for the purpose of reconciliation.
ü We believe
that this evangelism includes concern for both the spiritual and physical needs
of others.
6. The Law
of Believers: Love
ü As disciples
of Jesus Christ, believers are called to live under His rule. This involves
loving our enemy and refusing to use violence as we seek to live peaceably with
others. The believer’s witness is one of love, peace, justice and mercy to all
as exemplified by Jesus Christ our Lord.
