What does it mean to be a Christian believer?

A Christian believer knows that Jesus is
the true Messiah/Christ as promised to Israel - the Son of Almighty God.
Ø
A Christian believer is forgiven of sin
and reconciled to God through repentance and faith in the redemption wrought by
Jesus Christ.
Ø
A Christian believer is reborn of the
Spirit of God by faith in God through Jesus Christ.
Ø
A Christian believer is to represent
God's Kingdom on earth in the context of the world.

A Christian believer fits into God's
redemptive plan for mankind as one of God's chosen people under the New
Covenant.
What is the New Covenant?
Ø
The New Covenant is a promise-based
relationship between God and His people through Jesus Christ His Son. (Note:
The term "covenant" is often translated as "testament" in
many Bible versions.)
Ø
The New Covenant was made with the Jews
(i.e. God's people under the Old Covenant) first and then to the Gentiles (i.e.
non-Jews).
Ø
The Law of the New Covenant - to love God
with all our being and to love one another as Christ has loved us - is written
in our hearts.
What is the Assembly?
Ø
The Assembly is the term usually
translated as "the Church" in the Bible.
Ø
The Assembly refers to any meeting of two
or more "born of God" believers that have gathered in Jesus' name.
Ø
The Assembly signifies the Lord's
presence on earth.
Ø
The Assembly is in the world but not of
the world.
Ø
The Assembly is to be the physical
representation of the Kingdom of God.
What is the Kingdom of God?
Ø
The Kingdom of God is not the
passive observance of religious activity.
Ø
The Kingdom of God is not of the
world or physical realm.
Ø
The Kingdom of God is spiritual.
Ø
The Kingdom of God is the inward action
of the Spirit's power and the spiritual witness of Truth.
What does the future hold for me as a believer?
Ø
The immediate future for the believer
holds a life of selfless service to others in Jesus' name.
Ø
The immediate future for the believer
also holds the hope of our Lord's coming at any moment to receive us as His
own.
Ø
The future for the believer holds the
hope of eternal joy in the presence of the Lord and the promise of victory over
death assured by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
