Illinois
District Council Summer Session
The IDC
Ordination Committee approved the following:
Sister Karen Sims became our newest member of the Illinois District Council.
Sister Chris Jackson was approved for the Illinois District Council Visitation Card.
Minister Bryant Hardy
was approved to receive his local minister's license from
the Illinois District Council. This is thefirst step
toward receiving national Licensing and Ordination by the
Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. There willbe a
formal installation service scheduled at the House of
Prayer in the near future.
New
District Elder for District #4
Pastor
Joseph L. Jarvis has been elevated to the position of
District Elder, serving District #4 of the 6th Episcopal
Diocese of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World,
filling the position vacated by the death of District
Elder Ervin Turner earlier this year. District #4
currently includes seven churches in Peoria, Galesburg,
Rock Island, Champaign, Bloomington, and Bradley,
Illinois.
On Wednesday Pastor Jarvis was recommended by Illinois District Council Chairman District Elder Freddy Hill, and appointed to the position by Diocesan Bishop Arthur M. Brazier. On Thursday this appointment was ratified by the Executive Board of the IDC and their recommendation was approved by theCouncil membership at large during the General Business Session. On Friday evening,Pastor Jarvis and Evangelist Mona Jarvis were a part of a District Elder Consecration Service, along with five other newly appointed District Elders and their wives, which included the laying on of hands by our Diocesan Bishop Arthur M. Brazier, former Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Bishop Paul Bowers of Cincinnati, Ohio, along with the Suffragan Bishops and District Elders of the 6th Episcopal Diocese.
Vacation
Bible School
Vacation Bible School will be held from Mon, Aug 4 through Fri,
Aug 8 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Please complete A VBS Worker's Sign-Up
Sheet to volunteer.
Pre-Registration will take place during our church picnic on Saturday, August 2.
Church
Picnic
Our church picnic will
be held on Saturday, August 2nd, at Anderson Park on College
Avenue in Normal from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is a sign-up
sheet available for those who want to volunteer to set up, cook,
supervise activities, clean up, or provide transportation. Please
bring food or meat to the park before 1:30 pm, or make
arrangements for someone else to bring it for you by that time
There will be lots of fun activities, and be sure to bring your
water gun for the big water gun fight. The picnic will also serve
as our "kick-off" and re-registration for Vacation

Daughters
of the King / Praise Dance Rehearsals
"Daughters of the
King" classes for young ladies, and praise dance rehearsal
will meet this Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Contact Evangelist
